The Real Johnson is now accepting submissions.
If you'd like to write something for the site, submissions can now be sent to therealjohnson1@gmail.com.
Submissions for the site should be fairly short. A maximum of 1500 words is best, and submissions around 800 - 1000 words are preferred. Submissions of exactly 819 words are ideal.
You can simply paste your submission into the body of your email message. Please don't send us attachments.
Please include your name with your submission, and, if you'd like to remain anonymous or post under a pseudonym, please let us know.
Please include a proposed title for your submission.
Be sure to let us know if you'd like to include a link to your own blog or twitter feed. We might actually post it.
Be sure to include some indicator as to what is contained in your submission in the subject of your email. The title of your post is ideal. The desciptor "An Awesome Submission" is not.
You will receive absolutely no monetary reimbursement for your submission. All we can offer is exposure to a couple hundred readers a day and maybe a drunkenly-mailed photocopy of an image of Groucho Mark sleeping on chaise lounge (it's a riot!).
As we're new to this, we have no idea how many (if any...) submissions we might receive so we also have no idea how long it will take to get back to you/post your submission. Please be patient and continue swimming naked. Oh come on, continue!

We will endeavour to respond to every submission.
There is absolutely no reason to bother sending us:
- SPAM
- Racist or offensive material
- Nude pictures of men or unattractive women
- Insanely long screeds
- Posts that include the phrase "could care less"
We strongly recommend checking out the kind of thing that Johnson and others have posted here previously in order to get an idea of what's expected. Short stories about your kitten propbably aren't the kind of thing we want to see.
